Re: Preignition dash light not coming on
You need to take a real good look inside your battery compartment, original factory had a box with exposed fuses and relay behind the batteries and power came from 1 wire off the engine batteries ( so trace from there). However lots of people drove the battery tray in too hard and smashed the box. M...

Re: Cat 3126B Flash Code 55
As you were driving had you used the cruise system or tried to use while it was flashing. did cruise work?. I had noticed that some other of my switches have gotten "less functional" shall I say. Dust in the contacts, carbon build up. Call it as you will. With the ignition OFF I rapidly sw...

Re: Mystery Oil pressure switch '98 Serengeti 3706
There you go, my 1996 "1WM" 3126 Cat (with the 40 pin ECM) doesn't have that switch as I am sure that I have only "T" at the end as yours must be a 3126B series with a different serial number prefix. Good find, best of luck

Re: Mystery Oil pressure switch '98 Serengeti 3706
I have traced my hourmeter wire back to the blue isolator in between the alternator and batteries and have a fused (5amp) connector on the center post. Note that hourmeters typically hook to either a pressure switch or ignition source and isolator is energized when alternator is running/ engine on!

Scroll down to the bottom of the datcon page I have posted and click "go back" and all the gauges will pop up with part numbers and visuals less the Magnum word

Re: Mystery Oil pressure switch '98 Serengeti 3706
Sorry mine say Magnum as well and they are Datcon brand gauges and senders/sensors. I got my replacement oil senders from NWRV Supply, about $15 but if you look elsewhere on line look up Datcon as the gauge and sender must match by name and gauge pressure. Look here for the part numbers https://c-a-...

Re: Mystery Oil pressure switch '98 Serengeti 3706
If it has a single wire on it,someone replaces the sensor for either the dash or service bay oil pressure gauge. Each has their own sensor/ sender. I have replaces both mine with the appropriate sender. There are matching ones to the dash. ie" 0-100psi for the Datcon marked with Safari gauge, 0...

Re: fuel filters?
I own a Cat engine so I use Cat filters. That said, WHEN I own a "Baldwin" or "Fleetguard" engine I will use theirs. OH! they don't have an engine! They also say "Beyond Meat" tastes like meat!!......no it does not! That head mechanic of yours probably does not drive an...

My '96 Geti has a tank (blue) forward of my front entry Kwikee steps. Easier to get to with the steps out but easy to see when I crawl under on my back. Maybe you should look a bit harder. I also drained "said" tank by removing one of the lowest air lines and there was a bunch of water and...
