Re: Yahoo hosted Safari site going away

'Would the files, etc. be saved by Internet Archive's Wayback Machine?
Just a thought.  I haven't tried to use it like that.

Replacing brake rotors & pads in Houston

'I need to have the brake rotors and pads replaced on my '98 Safari Serengeti.  Does anyone have a recommendation for a reputable place to have this done in the Houston, TX, area?  I am new to having to deal with repairs since my husband died a few months ago. Thanks for any suggestions. Annette Bow...

Re: 1998 Safari Serengeti

'We bought our 1998 Serengeti new 20 years ago.  It had been on the lot for a year and the dealer had taken parts to service other units so ours may not be like any other.  Actually I think Safari had a reputation for not making any two units the same.  We have a 37' mid-entry with a CAT diesel. We ...

Re: shepard stearing gear

'When I had to have my Shepard Steering Gear replaced - I had a
re-manufactured unit

installed. Steering was never this good before (tight).

Re: Tires

'John
The tires looked about the same on the inside as the out.
As for the ride and handling -- ride was good (if you lowered pressure
to the weight of the coach)
Handling was very good and consistent till the day they took them off.

Re: Tires

'John, I was replacing 8 yr old XZA2s with new ones. The old ones (with which I have been pleased) looked almost new with little to no cracking. The new ones have the same pattern. The only thing I see that is different is the word "Green" is no longer on the side wall (or is on the inside...

Re: Tires

'Update Got my new XZA2 tires yesterday. I used the FMCA discount program and was pleased with how it worked. There was one minor problem with the purchase ----- the charge sent to my credit card was $74,000 and change. Though my credit is good and there is a high limit on the card - the card co., b...

Re: Fuel gauge not reading properly

'Duane I can not remember the configuration of the 96 Sahara. I have a 98 Serengeti, built in Nov. 97, which has a Silver Leaf computer unit in the dash. If you have one of these - one of the readings available to you is fuel used. I used this for several years - until this year when I spent $$$$$$ ...

Re: Gen set and bad fuel

I would have to get paper work - but think the co. that reworked the
tank charged
about $1000. This included the new sending unit (about $350). Cummins
did the
removal and install of tank.
