Re: New Shocks my experience
Since we are on this subject would anyone have advice for a model 3040 Safari Kalahari. Definitely want the Koni’s. Currently we have Monroe’s. Can you cross reference them to the Koni’s with part numbers? It is the rear 6.5 diesel.

Re: 1993 Safari Kalahari
I have been under the Kalahari several times. There is no ID plate. It does say Hydromatic. If I can figure out how to attach a picture I will.

Re: 1993 Safari Kalahari
Mel You threw me a ringer. My transmission has the park brake assembly on the rear of the transmission. My shifter is on the column like a standard automobile. I thought Allisons had the push button setup on the side consul. Am I wrong? Where would it be identified? I know about Allison’s being from...

Re: What is the Safari model lineup or hierarchy?
John I have the complete write up from Motor Home Magazine about the Kalahari. Testing results, options, capacities, and complete pricing. It was designed to lure customers wanting a diesel powered class A for a pretty economical price. The test vehicle with a few options was priced at 100K. If want...

Re: What is the Safari model lineup or hierarchy?
John I should have been more clear. Safari was making Treks on the Isuzu chassis and transitioned in late 94 to the larger frame. The Isuzu 4cylinder was under powered but very efficient. They offered the 6.5 GM diesel and the GM 454 mainly. However belonging to the TrekTrax site there have been som...

Re: 1993 Safari Kalahari
Wayne Yes mine has the GM tranny with the big Park Brake assembly on the rear. It is good to connect with other Kalahari owners as I do not think there are many. I am in need of any electrical diagrams you might have. Something that covers the fuse panel on firewall. One is for the step but lost on ...

Re: What is the Safari model lineup or hierarchy?
I know Safari was in a transitional period in 1993. Treks were the mainstream build up to that point. In 1993 Safari built the Kalahari model as a transitional coach. It was only built in 93 and 94. Not many were produced. The Kalahari came in a 30 ft and a 33 ft model. They were all pushers with th...

1993 Safari Kalahari
We have a 1993 Safari Kalahari with a 6.5 turbo diesel and 4L80 GM transmission. It is a 30 foot pusher. I am looking for any information I can get on drivetrain, electrical, etc.. Are there any other Kalahari owners here?
