Re: Ride height?

I don't know the answer to your question, but I can tell you that Safari measured the ride height from the center of the each wheel (4 corners) to the riveted belt line. For the VelvetRide Torsional Suspension, the ride height was 25 inches, +/- 1/4 inch, using the measuring method described above. ...

Re: Small wood stove in 1995 40 ft Safari Serengeti

Thank you for the feedback. When it gets that cold, that is when you can see and feel the lack of insulation. That stove looks like it has some decent btu output capability, and yet from what you were describing, it was just keeping up. This kind of feedback helps put this reality in perspective. So...

Re: Engine Comm Failure Message

I would suggest giving Dave Atherton a call, 605-997-0720. He is a retired CAT master troubleshooter and is very knowledgeable and helpful.

Re: Mystery Oil pressure switch '98 Serengeti 3706

If that oil pressure switch does not operate one of the gauges, it is possible that it could be the signal switch that runs the engine hour meter, located in the service bay. Some Safari coaches did use a signal from an oil pressure switch to run the hour meter.

Re: Small wood stove in 1995 40 ft Safari Serengeti

Nice setup! Looks like your pup really appreciates that cozy radiant heat. :D Do you go through a lot of wood on the frigid nights? It's hard to tell from the angle of the picture, but is the diamond aluminum sheet larger on the inside or the same size as visualized on the outside framed in the wind...

Re: Rec Pro 15K AC w/Heat Pump

A friend of mine replaced his original Dometic with a new Dometic heat pump unit. He had issues with thermostat wiring to adapt to the new system, but otherwise he says that the unit works well on both heating and cooling. He does state that when temps get below 35 degrees, that the heat becomes ine...

Yes, please post pictures of your setup, especially the chimney. If the photos don't load, you likely need to shrink the file of the photos, and then they will go through.

Re: Where is it?

I don't know, but some of the old SMC manufactured Safaris had their brake fluid reservoir over the driver's side front wheel. Maybe another Simba owner can chime in...

Re: Rear docking lights

Robert, I did not, never got around to it, but I did install one LED light in the rear docking light, and holy cow is it bright. If I forget turn them off my dear wife lets me know darn quick. Lol. Last summer I had a lady, at a campground, stop me to let me know that one of my rear docking lights i...
