Re: 95 Serengeti - Have Running Lights but no High/Low Headlights
It is possible that your headlight switch went bad, so you would also need to test that. If it is bad, pick up a headlight switch at the auto parts store. Tell them that you need a headlight switch for an '86 Ford Bronco or F150, as that will be a direct replacement for a '95 model year. I'm not su...

Re: Dometic Penguin AC
<t>Something to keep in mind, the heating elements will generate 5120BTU each, at best, probably a bit less. Your furnace produces 20K BTU or more, and since these coaches don't have very good insulation, coupled with big windows, you might want to consider supplementing with a vent free, or a direc...

Re: Need rotors for SMC M-series "Blue Max" chassis
From reading the post, it looks like it's probably Safari part numbers. If you read his whole post, he mentions some brands and part numbers that were cross referenced. If you are interested, there is a fellow Safari owner that has brand new Cryo rotors that he wants to sell, because his coach got t...

Re: Ride height?
Believe me, if I knew, I would have told you already, unfortunately I do not know, but trying to figure it out. I saw that Brett pointed you in the right direction, so I figure I would mention the shocks as a btw/helpful info, because I saw the shock part numbers, and am familiar with those particul...

Re: Allison trans / no start power
To add to what Duane has stated. On older coaches the engine ECM and the Allison Transmission VIM/TCM are fed by two 10 ga wires, one to positive, with inline fuse for each, the ECM and TCM, that connect directly to the battery positive, and one each for ground, that connect directly to the battery ...

Re: Speedometer and Odometer acting like Tach
It almost sounds that the wires feeding the tach and speedometer were accidentally reversed/swapped. Was there any sensors changed or work done on the coach, where this could have accidentally happened?

Re: Westport Axle - Parts
Do you have your build sheet that came with the coach, and has all part numbers to major parts like axles, refrigerator, A/C, appliances, etc. It should have the model number on that sheet, if not, try looking for number on the axle itself.

Re: front air bag (spring)
Your best bet is to remove it and bring it with you to field verify at a truck shop or parts store. How did you measure the bag? If I remember correctly, you need to measure the top hat, the top metal disc the airbag sits under, not the actual airbag. Also, many of items like these were different on...

Re: 1998 C-Class steering stabilizer issues
I should ask. Are there any other Safari C-Class folks still on this site. Our time may have passed? There are at least two that I know of here, but I don't know how active they are. If I remember correctly, one of them lives in Alaska. eneriksen Here is a link to one of them, with photos of his ri...

Re: Need rotors for SMC M-series "Blue Max" chassis
Chuck, Here is a link to a post that shows a comprehensive list of Safari brake parts, that fellow Safari member Bill E. did years ago on the FMCA forum and here too, but it was easier to find it on FMCA. He use to have a '00 Zanzibar. He is the same guy who knew where the refrigerator fuse was. ;) ...
