Sorry, I forgot to mention they don’t pull the transmission. Either it’s done through the inspection hole or the starter is removed for more access.

Call some welding shops, they can fill in the missing teeth and then grind out the right profile.

On my 96 the HVAC control head is the same part number as a Chevy Cavalier. If you can get the part number from yours that would be a great start.

Without any gauges this is what I would do; Take a digital thermometer and put it in the vent closes to the evaporator, close the other vents and turn the fan on low Start the unit and turn the ac on in recirculating mode and turn the temp dial to the coldest and then go back and see if the ac comp ...

Depends on shifter pad. Some you can get replacement board for the gear selector which is half the price of a new one. But most are a sealed unit and the whole assembly needs to be replaced. ~$900us 1500cad
