Re: steering box leaking fluid
I rebuilt mine. The kit of seals cost about $100. I did have to buy a big pitman arm puller for another $100. It is heavy so that makes the job more challenging. Took me about a day but then it was my first time and I'm not as fast as I once was. It did stop the leak.

Re: Bilstein or Koni?
Thanks Wolfe10, I haven't checked the runout but great suggestion. I'll try that.
Thanks TDJohn. The Koni shock is only about $25 more per side.

Bilstein or Koni?
My 1993 M-3430 Ivory has a very bothersome vibration in the front wheels. It feels like one or both of the front wheels are bouncing up and down. This happened with new tires for which I paid for a balancing job. It has a VC-22 Oshkosh chassis with leaf springs. One of those new tires could have a p...

Re: Removing inner rear wheels, diff seal
I ended up getting a DEWALT DCF899B 20v MAX with up to 700 ft-lbs of max torque and 1200 ft-lbs of max breakaway torque.
But the problem had on the inner wheels was they have reverse threads. Opps. Once I figured that out it was easy.

Re: Drag link repair
The brake issue caused a "death wobble". I would have parked it if the hurricane wasn't on my tail. I'm guessing this caused or accelerated the wear on the drag link ball ends. It has 96k miles so hard to tell. Anyway, I wiggled and jiggled all the steering parts I could and the only play ...

Drag link repair
Hi all, I'm have some front wheel wobble around 50 mph. New tires all around. When I bought and drove the RV home the left front brake was grabbing. Unfortunately I was running away from a hurricane and drove it like this. The only problem I can see is wear on the drag link ends. Any idea how to sou...

Re: Removing inner rear wheels, diff seal
Thanks for the help. I had actually not removed the budd nuts. Took them off and the wheel came right off.
I found replacement calipers/pads at O'Reillys with next day delivery. These have metal pistons so that's a win.

Re: Removing inner rear wheels, diff seal
Thanks, yes, I had a pile of lug nuts and budd nuts. I found a tool online called dually buddy. Don't really want to buy yet another specialty tool but it would be cheaper than taking it into a shop for new calipers. I'll probably wrestle with this again. Maybe all the PB Blaster I sprayed on it has...

Re: Removing inner rear wheels, diff seal
Oh, I was able to remove the lug nuts and the outer wheels. The inner wheels? Nothing holding them on, they were just stuck on the hub or bolts. Maybe the dragging caliper heated it up and got it stuck. I think I'll try fighting with it again. Maybe this time.
