Re: Shocks or airlift bags for 2005 30PDD W22

Here's how it turned out. I did both and the result was fantastic. This coach drives like a dream. Completely worth every penny!

Re: Front end seems low - will air bags help? or should I get heavier springs?

Yes, on the Workhorse P chassis, the air bags inside the front springs are a CRITICAL part of your suspension. Without them (or stronger springs, like from Henderson), you will bottom out the suspension, rapidly wear out the front tires, etc. Do not drive except to a shop before fixing this. Many h...

Workhorse Chassis - An appreciation

This is kind of a ramble, but I thought I'd put it here because so many of the things I've come to appreciate have to do with the workhorse chassis and the problems anticipated by Chevy when they built this thing. I'm not saying other chassis are not good! I'm just recognizing how reliable this coac...

Re: Front end seems low - will air bags help? or should I get heavier springs?

Here's an update, for those interested. I've weighed my front end with an eye towards getting new springs. But after having watched a "how to" video on Youtube about how to install the springs I've decided to put in airbags. Here's why: 1. Cost. New springs are about $400. New airbags are ...

8.1L check engine light but no symptoms

Greetings all - My check engine light is on. The coach drives normally. No loss of power. No overheating. Nothing out of the ordinary. What would you put on the short list to check? And how urgent? SWMBO wants to take another trip this month before the weather gets *really* bad. Thanks, in advance, ...

Re: Bell crank housing & arms

Checked them today. They seem totally tight. Appears to be no play in the steering. Thanks for advising me to check this.
One comment - holy smokes the anti-sway bar on the front end of this coach is huge.

Tom -
Thanks for your post. Excellent info. Thanks for the comments on the procedure for checking the bell crank. I now have a mental picture of what I should do to do an assessment. I need to do that pretty quick.

Re: If you have a steering stabilizer, are you glad you put it on?

Brett - Thank you. 1. Thank you for your patience with me. You seem to have developed a reservoir of patience to draw from when answering the questions of those who don't yet even know enough to ask a decent question. Like me. 2. Thank you for sticking with it and helping me understand what I have. ...

Re: Front end seems low - will air bags help? or should I get heavier springs?

Thank you. I've watched a couple of videos on youtube where guys replace the airbags themselves. For me it looks like an exercise in awkward body mechanics that would be doable for a younger, more flexible person. I'm 69 and not as nimble as I used to be. But it seems that many here are around my ag...
