Re: Rear-cap combustion air intake grid?
Joey, I'm not certain about using the header grill from a Jeep, but there have been a few postings about using common 6 inch ductwork and a floor grate to move the fresh air intake as in my picture. I've noticed that my Cat runs a lot cooler since this was done - even in the 115 degree heat we encou...

Re: rear leaf springs
Glenn, I have to ask this - before you go to a LOT of work, has your mechanic replaced the zerk fittings? I've seen and had too many of them that were plugged up, and when a new one was installed the fitting took grease like it was supposed to. As far as to replacing them, you probably would have to...

Re: For Sale listings
Travis We've had rigs posted on the old group and no one was upset, so I see no reason why we can't do the same here. I would ask that you post it in the "For Sale (go to General Discussions, and you'll see the title there)" category and provide the necessary information along with it. If ...

Re: 6.3 NHEFA onan LP generator circuit board
Hubert, I believe that there's a nylon lock piece on the side of it that is holding it into the connector (most of the electronic stuff like that has a lock pin/plug), so you need to see if you can find it and see if it requires being depressed to release, or what the exact combination is. Sorry I c...

Re: Cannot send private message
Since I fill in as a moderator here, I'm not 100% certain if the option of clicking on the individual's name and sending an email to them is available or not (some of the screens do strange things now for me now because of that). I know it shows up for me, but I can't remember if it did prior to my ...

Re: Replaced the kitchen 110v fluorescent fixture
I did kind of the same thing, only using two LED clip in panels instead, mounted into a finished plywood frame that I glued into the existing oak frame. The difference in available light is amazing (plus I got rid of the hum that the old ballast was starting to make)

Re: Engine battery dead even when plugged in
Chuck, A couple of things come to mind when looking for small current draws - start with the known simple ones - are all your basement and utility lights off? Are your vent fans all off? Turn off the switch for your steps in case they are trying to cycle for whatever reason. Make a list and go throu...

Re: Cross posted from the Safari Motorhome Owners Faceebook page
I have to wonder about something that I saw on TV and making replacement lenses. I was watching American Restoration (Rick Dale in Las Vegas) and they did molds of an Italian Scooter lens, then poured the chemical in to make a new lens that looked identical. My curiosity is if someone was to make a ...

Re: Safarifriends yahoo group folders and discussions
Hilbili, When you do a search, it normally will include the older legacy files - however - I've noticed a few times where the wording has to be almost perfect to get some of them to appear. Wildcards in the search parameters seem to help find some of the older topics as well, plus you can scroll dow...

Re: Engine battery dead even when plugged in
Chuck, I'm not totally certain about the newer rigs (mine's a 96), but our Engine Batteries aren't normally part of the Inverter/Charger circuits - it only does the House batteries. I put a trickle charger on my engine batteries for just that reason after running a power lead into my maintenance bay...
