Re: 1997 Sahara "Gas" Cap
'Mel, Googling that number came up with a number of matches to 1980's VW gas models. All those had sealed gas caps with charcoal canisters. Might end up with that, but, if someone has information on the OE cap, would like to start there. Brett --- In Safarifriends@yahoogroups.com, "stuplich@......

'Will post part numbers when they arrive. I sent samples of front and rear end link bushings to Roadmaster to match up. Total coolant capacity
'1997 Sahara 3540. Books show total coolant capacity as only 7.5 gallons. I am asking because our last coach (1993 Foretravel with Caterpillar 3116) had an 18 gallon TOTAL capacity-- very different. Does anyone who has actually changed coolant know if this is the TOTAL capacity: engine, radiator, ho...

Re: 1997 Sahara "Gas" Cap
'YES. Been around motorhomes for a long time, but just bought the Safari Sahara two weeks ago. Sold our Foretravel with 170,000 miles on it. Found this Sahara-- looked long and hard at older, simpler non-slide coaches after deciding we just couldn't downsize as much as we originally planned. We are ...

1997 Sahara "Gas" Cap
'We just bought a 1997 3540. The fuel cap (gas cap) was missing when we bought it-- a ziplock bag and zip tie were in place. At least they kept dirt and water out. Would appreciate any information on the cap: Manufacturer and any part number identification? Vented or unvented? Any other description ...

Re: diesal storage-run motor monthly ???
'Jon, In a word, NO. If you start the coach engine, you need to be able to drive at least 25 highway miles (more if below 40 degrees F). You need to be able to get the OIL, not just coolant up to operating temperature for long enough to burn off moisture. If you can't do that, don't start it. Also, ...
