Re: 1999 safari steering box
This may not be of much use - but I had my steering box go out about 2 years ago on my 98 Serengeti. I was in Fredricsburg, TX and had a mobile heavy duty repair guy replace my box, on site, with a rebuilt form IL. The freight was more than the part ( over night ) because it was considered heavy fre...

Re: fuel guage stuck past full
Don't forget to check the reserve tank for small holes caused by rust. I had 2 problems with my horns: 1- burned up compressor due to constant running (air leek), got new one from PAC Brake people. 2- small holes in air tank (the leek), new pressure tank from NAPA (not same as original but about sam...

Re: Front blinds/shades
We replaced the pleated shades with MCD ( http://www.mcdinnovations.com/) day/night shades. Windshield shades are motorized and side shades are manual. My wife loves them. She pulls down the day shade on the side window and can still see the beauty outside. MCD is located in McKinney, TX - a suburb ...

Re: Air Horn issue; '95 SAFARI IVORY, 38' deisel pusher
I have a 98 Serengeti - The air for the air horn is supplied by the exhaust brake compressor. IF your compressor runs all the time - it will burn out and have to be replaced. As others have said - the air line may have a leak. Don't for get the small air tank up front. I had a problem with my air ho...

Re: Yellowstone Nat. Park.
Jim and Kathy There are many RV Parks in and west of West Yellowstone. The park I like the most is Red Rock R.V. in Island Park, ID. It is about 14 miles / 20 min. west of Yellowstone. They have a great web site - tells you things you can see in the area (how to get to them). One problem - unless th...

Re: Ignition glitch
I have a 98 Serengeti. There is a bay door in front of the driver's side front wheel. In this bay there are wiring connections and fuse panel for the coach. There is also a heavy duty solenoid. If this solenoid is sticking - you dash will not activate. Too check, bypass the solenoid and your dash sh...

Re: Screw Covers
Good information.
I have a 98 Serengeti and the plugs are wood. They match the Alder wood
cabinets and trim. I have not found a supplier for these.
any one have a source for these.

Re: Help with wall and cieling construction
Several years ago - at the Florida repair facility - I saw a coach that they were redoing the sides. I have a 98 Serengeti with aluminum sides. They were working on a later year with fiberglass sides - I do not know the year. Square tubular frame - outside fiberglass - then block Styrofoam - then in...

'I also have medicare advantage coverage. This thread worried me - so I checked with my insurance co. It seems that the real problem is when you go to a location and stay there for longer than a month - 2 or 3 and go see doctors and get prescriptions filled. This flags medicare that you have moved (...

Check with your local school district - the bus maintenance group.
Several of the older school buses
and Safaris had the same lens.
