Re: Bilstein or Koni?
Is the firmness too much? In a word, NO. The adjustable Konis have very little dampening on compression (where it would add to effective spring rate/make ride rougher). The vast majority of their dampening, particularly when set on firm setting is on extension where it doesn't add to ride harshness...

Re: fuel tank access
If the level of the fuel filter housing was ABOVE the level of fuel in the tank, all the fuel would run back to the tank, leaving you with 30' of AIR. That is a lot to bleed out with the little primer pump. If that happens, "Plan B" is to loosen the filter from the filter base. Put a diese...

Yes, brake fluid need to be changed every couple of years.
Also, check the level of your PS fluid and replace filter if not done recently.

Re: 95 Serengeti - Have Running Lights but no High/Low Headlights
Yes, many of us HAVE installed relays for both high and low beam headlights. The original wire just serves as the "signal" to close the relay. Easier on the switch and a lot brighter, as very little voltage drop compared with the OE with all power running through the switch. Need two fuses...

Re: "10 Year Rule"
In most cases, if your coach is in good condition, just send the CG a picture (date stamped recently).
Most CG's use the rule to keep out the "Sanford and Sons" trashed RV's from detracting from the CG' image.

Re: Allison MD3060
Decided to recheck for any codes and while going through all the d 1-d-6 it would go back to d-1 but would skip d-6. So after checking d-5 it would go back to d-1. Still no codes. Thanks If you get d-1 and - - (blank blank) that means there are NO CODES. If there are codes as soon as you get to d &...

Re: Allison MD3060
Tried. Used directions on YouTube and doesn’t work as shown. Up and down arrow goes to oil then again shows d1. Push again shows d2 and so on. Goes to d6 then back to NN. Yes, depending on year/model of Allison, the first push of the up and down arrows will bring up OL (oil level). The second push ...

Re: Allison MD3060
Really doubt it has anything to do with your filter/fluid change.
At least on three different DP's with that transmission, changing fluid did not lead to harsher shifts.
Have you used your shift pad to check for DIAGNOSTIC CODES? Any?

Re: Allison 3060 transmission
Sure wish I COULD help. But every Allison (not aftermarket) filter kit for the 3000 transmissions going back to the 1993 model year had all the gaskets/seals needed for all the various year transmissions. Said another way, you only use the style that you take off and throw the rest away. I would con...
