Re: 8.1L check engine light but no symptoms
There are a number of reasons you can get a check engine light and still have the vehicle drive normally. If you can, drive it to any big chain auto parts store - Oriellys, Autozone Pepboys etc, and they will read the codes for free. Depending on the issue, if it is intermittent, the light can go ba...

Re: CAT 3126B air filter change intervals - NOT what you may think
I'm pretty lucky. The original, owner had the air intake relocated to the side of the rear cap with a custom louvered intake cover. The old airbox is still there but abandoned. In seven years of ownership I've never seen evidence of water getting to the pleats although admittedly, we don't do much t...

Re: CAT 3126B air filter change intervals - NOT what you may think
Interesting. I read somewhere that every two years was suggested not because of plugging, but because of possible breakdown of the paper and glue in the element especially if it has ingested any water. Last time I swapped mine out it was probably 4-5 years old and looked just fine. Other than the ex...

Re: Alternator for 2002 Zanzabar.
This place "may" be able to help you. First, grab a flashlight and a pad of paper, crawl into your engine compartment and look for labels on both the alternator and compressor. Any numbers you can get will help. If you can't find a label take clear photos. Your coach model number may help ...

Re: If you have a steering stabilizer, are you glad you put it on?
X2 on the drivers side Bell crank. If bad, DON'T let the shop replace with a factory style it or rebuild it with new bushings. These are notorious for wearing out very quickly even with regular lubrication. Mine had a shocking amount of lateral play @50k and the original owner was a heavy truck mech...

Re: Cabinetry Drawer Guides Replacement
Here's my slides. Pretty light weight with the drawer part on the bottom of the drawer. I'm at the mercy of Lowes, Home Depot etc, with the possibility of Amazon because we full time and aren't in one place very long. I'm considering just biting the bullet and doing just a couple drawers that could ...

Re: A/C runs; shore power yes, generator no.
You could be looking at up to around $300 for a new unit, plus installation if you can't do it yourself. Find the brand and model and see if it's still available. My 98 uses a ESCO 50 amp ATS which is still available. If you can get an exact replacement, it should be a wire for wire swap. Take photo...

Re: Cabinetry Drawer Guides Replacement
Darn, I watched the video, got all fired up to do the project, picked up a couple slides to try only to find out the drawers in the 98 are done differently. They use hidden, under drawer slides. This means there isn't a large enough opening in the cabinet faces to accept the side mounted slides. I D...

Re: U-line ice maker
The water valve for my icemaker - 1998 Serengeti - is under the kitchen sink against the back wall. You can also just stop the icemaker from cycling by raising the wire ice sensor to the up position. I'd suggest, if you shut off the water, you also should stop the ice maker from cycling. If you want...

Re: Renogy 200W solar "suitcase" conflict with 100W roof panel?
Just reread my post and thought I'd clarify something in case someone reads it and misunderstands what I did. When I removed the factory panel and added the two new ones I did NOT connect the new ones to the original single panel wiring and controller. I cut and capped the wire at the panel and aban...
