Re: Overheating continues

I will reinforce the advice to clean the front of the CAC once a year on any rear radiator configuration coach. PERIOD. If you want to check. use your phone/camera to take a picture of the front of the lower part of the CAC. That fan is a vacuum sucking up all kinds of crap off the road and the fron...

Re: Overheating continues

I am having a similar problem. Replaced the top overflow tank, water pump, thermostats new long life coolant and it's still overheating under load. Question. The fan air control switch seems to be disconnected by the previous owner. Why would he do this? Fuel economy? I'm focusing on the fan for no...

Re: 1993 Safari Serengeti Electrical Configuration

To this end on fridge running off of inverter…should it? Were the Safari’s wired at the fridge to run off the inverter? I think one of our regular members here posted some time back that they had to wire their fridge to the inverter when they replaced their Dometic electric/propane fridge with a re...

Re: 1993 Safari Serengeti Electrical Configuration

If you have an absorption refrigerator, the PC board that runs it is 12 VDC. This is irrespective of "heat" source (propane or 120 VAC).

Have you looked on the box itself for model numbers?

Re: Engine does not start, transmission selector problem

The battery isolator (either diode-based OR solenoid-based) only, repeat only applies to charging from the alternator. You may (or more likely may not) have a means of charging the chassis battery from 120 VAC. There was not one originally on your coach. If (OK, big IF) your boost solenoid is a cons...

Re: Pacbrake

As long as you plumb in the compressed air lines to the "devices" they are currently connected to/designed to be connected to, where you locate the compressor is up to you. I relocated mine to a dry location and ran the power through a relay with power directly from chassis battery positiv...

Re: Water Heater

But since then our water heater refuses to ignite. Looking for hints about what to try, check or replace☹️. Assume your water heater will not ignite on propane. The water heater control and ignitor as well as gas valve all work on 12 VDC. What is house bank voltage? Have you checked for the presenc...

Re: Pacbrake

Brian, I am not familiar with your year model, but most PacBrakes work the same: Electric signal (switch) sends signal to the Allison ECU and two things happen-- the Allison starts downshifting "toward" its pre-select gear for exhaust brake operation. Often 2nd or 4th, but any gear can be ...

Re: Seems like this web forum is lightly used now

I have never been on Face Book (and don't intend to do so).

But, I have always been curious as to the quality/accuracy of mechanical advice on FB.
