Re: Slide bottom wiper blade seal replacement suggestions

I wrote a lengthy Article about this procedure posted/published in Safari Times a couple years back. The most effective way of drilling was to use a mirror and work from that. Next a long table made from a 2 X10 or 12 the length of the slide and the seal assembly. I used the long retainer rail and p...

Re: Brake Fluid Reservoir

I would buy that remote reservoir if you wanted to sell it. Likelihood of replacing again. During your stewardship pretty remote. B

Re: 3 questions: Pop Rivets, Audible temp alarm, Rear inner axle seal?

Rivets, all kinds to choose from. Yes Safari did use aluminum rivets but with steel shanks as they pull much tighter. Another thing about these little fasteners, they pull tighter and are much more effective when tight, and if pulled with an air driven rivet gun they are very tight. These devices ar...

Re: Did the 2000 era SMC coaches have the fiberglass "crazing" issue

Answering Beaver owners question about crazing of "2000" Coaches. First there were the SMC coaches and the Monaco" built" Safari Coaches...Yes there were crazing issues in the later SMC coaches. The lower door on my Zanzibar had the issue and my Panther has a severe case on the m...

Re: Did the 2000 era SMC coaches have the fiberglass "crazing" issue

I have an opinion based upon 40 years in the paint and body restoration business. One, the sides on our SMC coaches is an sandwich of components, the outer of which is aluminum, no fiberglass. The cap is a composite of gelcoat and chopped fiberglass applied with a special gun on to the back of the g...

Re: upgrade thermostat Penguin II

Well not Yet though it looks like the new thermostat will work. It took a lot of effort to get the OE control box out of the hole they tucked it in. I don't know why but finally came out and all the wiring now in front if me. New AC/heat pump arrived today late.

Change over to Dometic Penguine II

More on my fiasco effort of changing to a Dometic Penguine II AC/Heat pump. In the written info at PPL it does not there or at Dometic differentiate between a multi zone thermostat unit and a single zone controlled unit. The only way to know is to know the part numbers or ask the tech serving you. T...

Re: What is the Safari model lineup or hierarchy?

Commenting on "Sometimes advertised as Continental Panther" SMC showed the model "Continental Panther" as the top of the line. As I indicated earlier it was the Continental was upgraded with an Engine upgrade. Monaco eliminated calling it the "Continental" instead calli...
