Roof Project
Before and after pics of the roof painting. I used Interlux Brightside Sea Green on the sides and the tops of the caps and Pettit EZPoxy white on the roof. About $250 in paint and 12 hours of labor. Cleaned the entire roof with TSP before painting. I also took up all the old caulk and re-sealed ever...

Shift Pad Buttons
The buttons on the Allison shift pad are getting harder and harder to push far enough to engage a gear. Is there a quick fix like contact cleaner or do I need to replace the pad? If I'm replacing the pad, is it the entire VIM or is the pad separate from the VIM?

Dash A/C Part Numbers
I can't remember if it was here, on Yahoo or Facebook, but someone posted the part numbers for the dryer and expansion valve for the dash A/C system. I replaced the compressor over the winter and finally got around to having the system filled only to find out that the expansion valve is not. I figur...

Re: Need a good Mechanic and Part Number
I hesitate to give you the part number for my switch because yours does look different. Basically it's a Hobbs switch which is used to turn on the park brake light on the dash. Mine leaked and pumped all the hydraulic brake boost and power steering fluid out over the course of a week. Covered the (w...

Re: Removed the head banger cabinet
I removed my head banger, took out the recliner and lamp table behind the pax seat and put a flat screen LED TV in a cabinet with a televator. I used the wood from the lamp table to build a new corner cabinet. It's nice having the TV directly across from the couch and driver's seat.

Re: Slow fuel fill fix
There is one more dimension to this issue that could be of interest to new Safari owners that are unaware of the filling problem (like me 5 years ago). I was calculating my fuel range based on gallons on a fillup that was not actually a fillup. I was a little surprised that I was getting 11 MPG unti...

Re: Slow fuel fill fix
I still get some fuel in the line even though I eliminated the sag the first year I had the coach. I keep a short section of clear hose handy to blow out the vent line before refueling. I get a few strange looks from truckers, but it does work.
