Re: ENGINE OIL AND FILTER RECOMENDATIONS
When I bought my rig, I asked the head bus mechanic in our transportation dept what filters he used, and he said Fleetguard. My rig has a Cat, so I'll use Cat filters, but if they aren't available, I'll use Fleetguard. Shell T-6 is what I use although I've used other oils too. I've been a synthetic ...

Re: Bilstein or Koni?
Interesting thread. Looks like rather than being a "Sumo Spring" they are upgraded bump stops, and from what I could gather on my research, there's should be a gap between the stop, and the suspension when the rig is unloaded. I'm not familiar with this chassis, but from your description, ...

Re: "10 Year Rule"
We've been full timing for close to three years and only once were we refused reservations because of the rule. It was a quite expensive, posh resort that we wanted to check out - that was the only time. When asked we always offer to send photos. Our '98 is in very good shape and I try to keep it cl...

Re: Running Lights wont go off
2X on the wrong relay. Hope you kept the old one. Compare the part numbers and the schematic printed on the relay housing. Make sure it matches the old one, pin for pin. Pay special attention to the markings that show what contact is NO or NC --- N -ormally O -pen, or N -ormally C -losed. It may not...

Re: Leveling jacks not working
Glad you found the fix. I had the same thing happen several month's ago, but only for the front jack. It was the switch and I was able to carefully remove the rocker to access the contacts and clean them. If anyone reads this and tries doing the same, beware of little flying parts.

Re: Where to find a master cylinder rebuild kit.
One trick I've used when I run into research dead ends is to do a search using as much vehicle information as I can, and when the results page pops up, click on the "Images" button. Then I start looking for a part that looks like the one I'm trying to replace. Sometimes the photo links to ...

Re: steering box leaking fluid
For anyone in the future who has this problem and is stuck somewhere on the road for lack of a seal kit, there is a workaround that will get you home. You'll need to go to a hardware store to pick up a piece of aluminum or steel plate large enough to make another cover. Doesn't have to be a thick as...

Re: Inverter/charger replacement
Glad you found the problem. I suggest that checking and tightening connections at the transfer switch and breaker panel should be part of your regular maintenance schedule. Doesn't have to be done frequently, but annually of you use the rig part time, or full time without a lot of moving, or twice a...
