I’m seeing if ice maker works so I can use to cool drinks. Is it possible to use just for refrigerator or does it have to be hooked up to water supply? If so any idea where on/off valve is? Thanks

The U-line Ice maker can be used as a FREEZER not a refrigerator.

If you turn the temperature up (warmer), you can use it as a small refrigerator. Or better yet, use it to freeze bottles of water, so when you go hiking, you will have nice refreshing cold water to drink...

The water valve for my icemaker - 1998 Serengeti - is under the kitchen sink against the back wall.
You can also just stop the icemaker from cycling by raising the wire ice sensor to the up position. I'd suggest, if you shut off the water, you also should stop the ice maker from cycling. If you want to disable the ice maker in a semi-permanent manner, you can pull the unit out, and unplug the ice maker's wiring harness in the back.

I don’t have any cooling on unit. Also have water supply. No movement on parts inside after leaving on for a few hours. Compressor and fan come on so might just use it as storage for adult beverages that don’t need cooling. Thanks

I would suggest taking off the lower front grill, and seeing if the condenser coil is clogged up with dirt/dust. If that is reasonably clean, then likely your unit is low on refrigerant or has seen its better days.

Mine has an on and off switch behind that lower panel. My water control center also has a valve for the ice maker water supply.
