Side entry door

My 95 Safari side door does not seal good on top and bottom. Latch is in as far as can go and seals great for about a foot above and below but about 3/8 gap at top and bottom. Do not just want to put thicker seals if possible. Maybe try to tweak(bend) door slightly. Thanks
