Motorhome Insurance

Post by LeeTN »

Hi... I have seen several posts where the bluebook value of Safari motorhomes was in the $25,000-35,000 range for older models. I'm asking because when I moved to Georgia, Progressive changed my RV policy from a stated value version to an actual cash value one. Before moving here, I had my motorhome insured for a stated value of $25,000 because it would cost at least that to replace it with like kind and quality... and that was before the pandemic.

I just looked up the NADA value and it was $9100-$10,500. So, presumably... were it get totaled (heaven forbid), I'd only be paid that amount. I just looked at some older Safari motorhomes online and they seem to be running around $25,000 to $30,000 for something comparable to what I have.

Has anyone had experience with claims on their older Safari motorhomes? Or any advice?

Thanks!
