Inverter

Post by rsimms »

Hello all I have a couple of questions regarding power in my coach,1998 Safari Ivory, the inverter control panel is blinking all over the board on all columns and I can't find any power from it on any outlet in the coach, also any ideas on which outlets are supposed to be on the inverter.

Inverter powered receptacles (was: Inverter)

Post by stuplich@ymail.com »

On my coach ANY/ALL of the inverter powered receptacles are the receptacles protected by the 30A breaker, (breaker #5), in the 120VAC breaker box.

Usually when you get all the lights flashing, that means that you house battery bank is very low. Assuming you are plugged into shore power, unplug the phone cable from the inverter for about 10 seconds, then plug back in. This should reset the inverter and the LED panel and allow the inverter to start charging the battery bank.

As for which outlets the are powered by the inverter? My memory is getting a little foggy because I changed the wiring around on my coach where the inverter runs the whole coach. Obviously that requires load management, but at least every outlet works when I need it (I spend a lot of time boondocking, using inverter power majority of the time). Anyway, the best I can recollect, the microwave, galley, and ice maker outlets. The lights that work on 120v power, TV outlets (front and back), and I think the outside outlet are all powered by the inverter. Maybe someone else can chime in, regarding which outlets are powered by the inverter.
Also, some of the late 90s early 2000s coaches had a small hidden inverter sub panel hidden in the bedroom, often behind the bedroom TV. So if those circuits stop working, and resetting the inverter circuit breaker does not power the outlet up, I would suggest to look for the small sub panel, with two circuit breakers in it.

Awesome diagram! Thanks for posting! You don't happen to have a similar drawing for the 12 volt system, do you?
