Any ballpark ideas as to the cost to remove shave and reinstall a manifold with new gasket on my 2000 Safari Continental Panther 300 hp 3126 diesel engine? Trying to get idea as to whether I want to bother my son to do it or have it done professionally. Any ideas out there? Thanks.

What part of the country are you in-- that will help with determining labor rate.
How rusted/corroded are the exhaust manifold bolts? Are you going to spray a good penetrating oil on them for at least a week before the work. It is broken bolts that can materially add to labor time/cost.
Certainly not a complex job-- easily done with hand tools (been there, done that twice).

We are in East Texas. Just a small town. Mechanic very familiar with RV. I bought it from him about five years ago.

Well, that is interesting, as far as I know, the Panther models came with the big CAT C12 engine. You coach must be that one Safari exception...

Indeed, a Panther model with 3126 is VERY unusual. C12 was the normal engine.
