vehicle damage

Post by stnicjr »

Whoops! Someone ran into my '96 Safari Sahara. I am considering replacing the stainless fender piece myself. If any blog embers have any experience with this process I would much appreciate any input. Thanks in advance,

Stnicjr, Ouch that hurts.
There are so many different 'Panels' pictures of Coaches that are running through my head. I wonder which one.
Can you post a pic or two?
I have seen a posting for a few 'wrecking yards' of motor homes, There is a big one in Arizona I don't much more that that.
That might be a source for a replacement.
Good Luck, wave as you go buy.

My fenders and skirting is aluminum on my 97 Sahara. I manufactured one myself. To take off the fender drill out the pop rivets that are on the long hinge that runs horizontally above the panel and also the rivets holding the vertical trim piece and un screw the bracket underneath by the wheel well. Then the whole panel will lift up and then can slide off and out. You can probably take that piece down to a fabricator and they can make you a new piece.

Thank you for your replies. I am in AZ and have shopped the wrecker/salvage sites I could find with no success.
Your response about removing the panel looks to fit and answer my question. THANKS. I have located a nearby stainless fabricator in Tucson and hope to have good luck with him. Sorry I have not posted a picture. I have not yet learned that process for this forum.
