I was asked by TDJohn if I could save/capture the website since it is unfortunately shutting down and have done so. The site is about 3.61G bytes.
I do not have the source code to be able to manage changes to the site or registrations but have captured the links and files that go with the site. This is as I have done with the SafariToonces site.
I have successfully gotten the SafariFriends site to run off my local disk and be able to call up past information and links. That is, it appears that clicking on a topic goes to the posts and brings up the relevant information. However, trying to create a new post, links to the existing web site that is hosting the real code and therefore will not work once the host is shut down.
Therefore these two sites can be used in archive form to look for past posts of which there are extensive information. If a new site is created this information can access the old information. This is similar to what I did when the FarceBook site stopped hosting files for our group.
If someone wants to host the system, I will upload this to my S3 cloud account or OneDrive and share the link for download.

Tnx, Robert.
I've managed to d/l ~2GB-3GB before my connection fails and needs to be restarted.
This is the command I've been running on a linux and OSX boxes:
It looks like my dropouts occur when the Startlink satellites are in my obscured area.

I also sent you a dm with the same info.wget --mirror --convert-links --adjust-extension --page-requisites --no-parent https://www.safarifriends.org

Robert,
A huge thank you! Now we don't have to scramble trying to get something up and running.
Is there any member(s) that would be interested in creating and hosting our group? Or are we better off joining another group? Members, please give feedback...

Yay!
I'll just say that for everyone (so the server isn't clogged up) since I know there are many people here who are happy to hear this news. Many thanks to everyone who's showed interest in preserving the site and most especially...
....Thank you Robert, Duane, John and anyone else who's spent so much of your time to reach this goal. Thank you.
And also, thank you to our late friend Brian Pete who saved it once before and I'm sorry he's passed. I didn't know him but see from the past posts, he did what needed to be done just as you have. He'd be happy of this outcome I'm sure.

Happy Saturday
@Robert et al
Do you have a repository that I can use to upload the SF content I was able to capture?
The download directory contains ~989 files, mostly JPEG/TIFF(927 files), png, (23 files), pdf(32 files), gif(5 files).
Files are named as follows, with the php database and handler parsing and displaying the content as needed:
file.php?id=985: JPEG image data, JFIF standard 1.01, aspect ratio, density 1x1, segment length 16, baseline, precision 8, 401x535, components 3
file.php?id=986: JPEG image data, Exif standard: [TIFF image data, little-endian, direntries=13, height=6936, manufacturer=samsung, model=SM-G991U1, orientation=upper-left, xresolution=224, yresolution=232,
resolutionunit=2, software=G991U1UES6EWD6, datetime=2023:06:13 18:56:42, GPS-Data, width=9248], baseline, precision 8, 9248x6936, components 3
in the main directory root, I was able to also capture several indexes:
rw-r--r-- 1 dio dio 40228 Dec 29 05:07 index.html
-rw-r--r-- 1 dio dio 39750 Dec 28 16:15 index.html.orig
-rw-r--r-- 1 dio dio 36212 Dec 29 05:13 index.php.html
-rw-r--r-- 1 dio dio 35711 Dec 28 16:15 index.php.orig
-rw-r--r-- 1 dio dio 35711 Dec 28 16:12 'index.php?sid=0d6ab26670c1e8bce626e62267a16f7c.html'
-rw-r--r-- 1 dio dio 35711 Dec 28 16:11 'index.php?sid=27093fbc0a83d973f55b73412f8517d4.html'
-rw-r--r-- 1 dio dio 36462 Dec 29 05:17 'index.php?sid=69f877c0ccc6b2d8f1ecfba4edf41244.html'
-rw-r--r-- 1 dio dio 35806 Dec 28 16:15 'index.php?sid=69f877c0ccc6b2d8f1ecfba4edf41244.orig'
-rw-r--r-- 1 dio dio 35713 Dec 28 12:37 'index.php?sid=ad6d7f63466e1d7b8511aa3e68d19ff1.html'
I show a total file count(files and directories included) of 750,303.
The problem on my end is utilizing Starlink, the lag between satellite hand-offs will cause the site scraping to fail and the script needs to start over.
Your thoughts?
