'I agree that some models of K&N pass larger particles when they are clean but K&N makes sevearl different types. Some use oil and some do not. Some are paperlike, washable and others are not.
Better be certain that your engine maker approves the exact model you use or at least that the smae federal spec is met by the filter. I doubt any enigine maker will officially sanction anything but their own brand except grudgingly.
