1990 Serengeti Hydraulic brake system help

'I could use some help understanding the parking brake and wheel brake system on my coach. I have a 1990 serengeti with detroit 8.2 turbo and i'm having trouble getting the parking brake to engage, there is a large round red push/pull switch on the left hand side of the dash and just below it there is a red lever that also has something to do with the parking brake but not sure what either control is supposed to do when activated. Anybody with a similar coach know how these controls work? Thanks, Terry'
