Anyone install a Bluray home theater unit?

Post by david »

'Hello Everyone;

Having climbed aboard the Bluray band wagon, I have a library built of the newer releases.

Our previous coach had a simple home theater system in it and it was just a matter of direct swapping the DVD home theater for the Bluray home theater unit.  Run the HDMI cable, and plug in the speaker wires.  Done.

Not so with the new coach.  The Magnadyne in-dash head unit and the AMC XSA 5.1 surround amplifier have me scratching my head.     My Bluray home theater unit doesn't have red/white RCA two channel audio output.  It has the color coded speaker wire plugs for the 5.1 setup.

At first I thought, just splice into the speaker output from the AMC amp.  Then, I realized, I'd have power feedback into the Bluray player when the radio was on, and vice versa when the Bluray was on.  I could probably install a diode to prevent voltage feedback on both legs of the splice...for all five speakers and the sub.

But, there has to be someone out there that has done what I'm looking to do.  Right?  Someone has integrated a Bluray home theater unit into their coach and can still play the in-dash radio while on the road, and view movies with full on surround sound when parked.

Thanks,

David'

'Let me add some tech details;

Magnadyne M9900DVDS
AMC XSA 5.1 Pro Surround Amplifier
Samsung HT-D5300

In case any of those tech details help.
