Stuck transmission fluid level indicator

'We changed the filters on my transmission, measuring that we indeed got 10.5 qts of fluid out, so put back in the same quantity of new TES 295 fluid.  Now, however, my transmission level indicator is stuck on 4 qts low! I drove it for over an hour so know that the transmission was up to temps, and even when I checked it on an incline, it read the same exact - 4 low.  Looking at the schematics I see the wiring harness, but assume that the actual probe unit is internal to the transmission and has to be repaired by someone that works on Allisons? The original owner had scribed the dipstick with all the measurements from Allison, so we were able to check and see that it was well within the Hot Operating marks, even with it reading low on the monitor.  Anyone else ever have issues with their sensor like this??

'Same thing happened when I had my Allison serviced. They put the wrong fluid back in so I went out and bought Transynd and had them drain and re-fill it. Also we carefully counted how much went back in. It still reads 4qt low. The bus runs fine so I just live with it.

'I should also mention that later I went to a Allison dealer to have the Ex-brake re-programmed and at that time the readout said fluid level was correct, but the keypad on the dash still says 4qt low.

By what you are describing it apears that you are looking at/signed
into, and/or trying to reply/post on the safaricoaches Yahoo group,
which IS dormant. They moved to another provider and there isn't much
activity there.
When you are signed in to Yahoo groups, look to your left and make
sure that you click on safarifriends and not other Yahoo groups that
you are signed up with.
