'Mel,
Thank you for the info. These units are probably very handy, especially if one is trying to run an a/c unit on a small generator.Just an fyi, I have never had an issue running both a/c units on 30amp power, but it does require switching the refrigerator to propane and not using any other heavy loads. I have done this many time on my Safari and also on my last unit, a Holiday Rambler. If one needs to use a high draw item like a microwave, then one a/c unit needs to be shut down until the microwave is no longer needed.

' I have one of these but have been unable to use it.  Every time I try it pops the breaker on the pedestal.  I believe I've heard that it won't work with GFCI outlets.  Was a waste of money for me so far. If there is a 15/20 amp plug in addition to the 30 Amp, you might consider getting one of these to bring you up to what you need:  LeisureCords 24'' RV Y Adapter Cord 50Amp Female Plug to One 30 Amp Male and One 15 Amp Male 2.5 Feet with Handle (50 Amp Female - (1) 30 Amp Male & (1) 15 Amp Male)

Cheater Cord (was: Run 2 roof A/C on 30 Amp?)

'Before you waste $30+ be aware that those "cheater cords" are useless if/when the 15/20 Amp pedestal receptacle is GFCI protected, (which most are).

'Can you use this with two 30 amp outlets using a 30 amp to 20 amp adapter for the second one.  I know that it would bring the total up to 60 but is that acceptable?

'Would it work-- yes.
BUT, only because 30 amp has no GFI protection.
And, if the two hots are on the same side/phase, you could overload the neutral.  In a properly wired 50 amp circuit, the neutral only carries the DIFFERENCE in loads between L1 and L2.  In your example, the neutral could carry the SUM of loads on L1 and L2.

'I was going to suggest a stick of dynamite in the electrical bay would accomplish the same thing.  I seriously doubt they would know how or where to check phasing.
