I have a 1998 Safari Continental that I need to clean the fridge burner on - it will only cool on propane for a couple of hours before I get the "no co" code. It cools just fine on AC. On my installation when I take off the outside panel the burner is tucked way back behind the main body of the coach to right hand side so I do not have an easy way to access. Does anyone know how to get at that to clean - I am hoping I do not have to pull the fridge to do so?

'Ian, No easy day here. Either you work the burner as a contortionist, or you pull the unit.
Pulling the unit is not quite as bad as it sounds. There are likely two screws in the rear base of the unit accessible through the service hatch. Shut off gas atvthe tank and remove the gas line at the fridge gas shut valve. Disconnect the coach 12 volt power at the spade connectors. Unplug the 120 volt plug. Isolate and disconnect the ice maker water line if so equipped. Unload the fridge contents ensuring any beer is iced down to prevent “skunking” it. The fridge is held in by wood screws around the opening of the cabinet. A second set of hands is desirable when pulling it out. If you will build a horizontal landing of a wooden board on concrete or wood blocks the same height as the cabinet opening to slide the refrigerator onto as it comes out the opening, no one has to pick it up upon reinstallation.
All service is a cinch once it out the cabinet. Once you have cleaned the burner seeing what you working on, next time you can likely do it in the coach. v/r,

Then pushed the whole thing back and tilted one corner backing onto the shelf and the rest follows pretty easily. First time took the doors off...never again!!!

Refigerator chimney (was: Cleaning propane stove burner)
'IanOn some coaches fridge chimney can be cleaned from the top down after removing the roof top vent cap., (followed by blowing the flakes out of the burner with compressed air).
However sometimes simply blowing the burner area out with compressed air is sufficient.

However sometimes simply blowing the burner area out with compressed air is sufficient.

Instead of building a platform and pulling the refrigerator all the
way out, why not just pull it a third to half way out. It will give
you enough room on the back side to take the burner assembly apart to
clean it. Just a thought...
