'Mel,I suspect Bill’s “same as” was referring to the air filter you posted info about, but it could have been the NAPA filter that is identical.

' Sorry for not being more clear and leaving all the brains hanging in the wind, you all got it correct. The one in question did in fact come from  NAPA as a Wix Gold. The filters in the PANTHERS were not the same, but elements came in a can with a removable lid. The filter assembly was made by Donaldson which the last time I tried to buy through NAPA was not available 5 years ago. It was through O’Riely’s under another manufacturer.
I might add that in this small part of the world in Colorado, NAPA has an annual filter sale. Their primary line is Wix. The sale equals 50% off the retail price. That means a pretty good savings so I try to beat them at the game and buy a half dozen at a crack. I smile every time I go to the bank eachfor each oil change or fluid change of one kind or another.  Once in a while I call to check the prices and the smile broadens. Some years back the local NAPA dealer cut near 10 unused filters open to demonstrate the quality of WIX Gold filters. With that demonstration there was little question who had the most element and best appearing material in their filters. WIX was the clear winner!Yes Wix does manufacture a 2 micron rated filter for the final fuel filter but I have found you need to specify that it needs to be 2 micron. Still the best might be to pay the piper and use A CAT filter for than one. I have used both with no adverse effects as of this date.

'Bill,

Same thing as in MY 2001 Zanzibar, although it is not for sale.
Receipts from past owners indicate that a P537455 ($179.37), Carquest CFI 88857 ($162.99) are also valid numbers.
The first 8 posts in this thread discuss AIR FILTERS,  so I don't understand the determined confusion.

'Thanks to all for the responses. This group has so much knowledge and always willing to share. NAPA quoted me $275...I ordered via FleetFilter for $130 all in.
Jim - did check my engine and it is a 3126 NOT 3126b. is the 300 hp in question with this new information? I learn new things about this motorhome continuously.
Just had to replace exhaust manifold and turbo so I want to also replace air filter.

Joe,

The 3126 in the motorhomes originally were 250 HP but could be upgraded to 300. Later, many were sold in the 300 configuration.

It is important to know which engine you have as some parts are exclusive. Cat has a phone number and a web site where you enter your engine SN and when you search for parts, the numbers will fit yours.

This can be a handy cross check even if you are buying the parts elsewhere.
