'I have a 1998 serengti when I back up or go forward slowly and have the wheel turned all the way with the brake pushed in I get the service brake light flashes on with a buzzer sound. Now if i back off the wheel or brake it goes off. I know they both work off of the same hydralics is there anything wrong?'

'Shi,

Don't hold the steering wheel against the stops so hard, as it
stresses the steering gear box and the hydraulic system and does not
gain you any additional steering6angle. As soon as you feel the
steering hit the stop, just back it off a little bit.
The reason this is happening is because there is such a high load put
on the power steering hydraulics at a low engine rpm, that there is
not enough pressure and volume left to assist the brakes, so the
electric back motor kicks in, and the alarm sounds to let you know
that there is not enough Hydraulic pressure.

Does the buzzer sound when the brake pedal is pushed with the wheel turned BOTH "all he way to the right" AND "all the way to the left"?
OR does it only sound only when when the brake pedal is pushed with the wheel turned "all he way to the LEFT".. OR when turned "all he way to the RIGHT"?Mel'96 Safari

'It doesnt matter which way it is turned. I think the first answer is the best. I am just turning my wheel too far and at such a low rpm hydralics just dont have enuff pressure. I was just wondering if that was normal sounds like it is.'
