'Robert,
I was able to successfully download the archive files you've graciously made available and soon will begin the tedious process of getting everything into the new group forum site at https://safarifriends.org. Can you tell me what the cutoff date was for the files and message database download? I'll need to see about downloading files and messages posted to this group after that date.Even better, can you describe the steps you took to get the data?

Thanks,Brian

' Hi Brian
I used the program pgoffline. You can pull all the files as of the day it is run. Here is a link to the presentation I did.
https://safaritoonces.org/pgoffline-yahoo-groups/

The files you have are up to Oct 19. I also downloaded and updated the files on Oct 28. I haven't posted these because there was no feedback that the files were being used. I think the majority of users are waiting for the new site. You can get a test license for pgoffline 3 weeks.
If you want me to upload the files I can do so, or you can download them directly with the program.

' Hi Brian
I just got the time to sign on to you new forum (as Safaritoonces, fuel system apart... brutal job). You have created an exceptional layout and functionality, well done!
I appreciated the Yahoo forum and people that ran the group but the software from Yahoo system was severly limiting. All the best going forward.

' Hi Brian
I forgot to mention that I have extracted all the members lists from both forums in csv format, safarifriends and safarimotorcoaches. I can send these to you and you could send out an automated Mailer announcemrnt, or you could ferd this into your login database and populate all these into your user base. That might simplify people moving over. They wiuld have to do a forgot password link but that could be explained in the email. Let me know if you want these fikes.
I will post my presentations on you site as time permits.
One further important suggestion, reqire the users to add all the basic coach information in their profile and then automatically build all posts by the user with that signature as the footer to the post... as per mine as an example. There has been a lot of frustrated responses due to incomplete signatures by new people and older members seeking help and this has generated needless acrimony. This would be to me an essential add-on to your site.
