Quartzite

Post by wrhjr3 »

Anyone have a clue if any folks are grouping at Quartzite this winter> If so, when and where?

We'll be there as soon after the first of the year as possible. :D Can't wait!

From my notes:
On AZ-95 North between Mile Markers 114 and 115, turn east on Plomosa Road.
Drive about two miles. We'll be on the south side.
Look for the Safari International flag and banner.
The Safari no host event begins the 16th of Jan. I and several others will be there around the 10th. Watch for sign at road level. There will be a specific manner in which we will park in order to block the wind for the four days this will run. Please be willing to pull stakes and do as requested. We have a nice fire pit around which all congregate for drinks and snacks. I do not know for sure but I believe there will be some pot luck meal organizing. Questions call me 303 807 7975 Bob N Annie DeSanti please join us at Karchner Caverns State Park near Tuscon Jan 2nd still plenty of sites. We will be there 4 or five days and move up to the Pima Count Fair grounds for several days visiting the Pima Air Museum and the AF Bone Yard We are meeting other Safari folks from Louisiana for New Years.

Safari coaches will be gathering on the south side of Plomosa Road, January 16-20, 2020, for the annual no cost, no host, no hookups rally.

Directions
On AZ-95 North between Mile Markers 114 and 115, turn east on Plomosa Road.
Drive about two miles. We’ll be on the south side.
Look for the Safari International flag and banner.

(Treks will be in an area off Dome Road, west of Quartzsite).

Yuck! I'll be leaving Fallon on the 27th - I hope - and be there a few days later. I somehow missed the reply to my post.

The Quartzite get together 2020 was lots of fun. We finally left on 1/23 headed for Big Bend. We left Bill E, Ken B, Ed, ... still parked as a group. What a great bunch! Had a great time around the campfire and getting to know everyone. Norbert put on a great show with several seminars to attend. Jay and Nancy Hoult brought several sacks of Lemons to hand out to anyone who wanted some. Learned lots about my Cat from Dave Atherton, who gave me a clean bill of health from his computer diagnostic printout.

Explored Q and most of the surrounding BLM areas. I think we hit every flea market tent at least twice. Big tent took three visits to make sure we got rid of all of our money! haha Lots to do in a carnival atmosphere.

We look forward to doing it again.

Oh, strange coincidence. We discovered that we'd bought our '98 Serengeti from Ken & Billie Barker's neighbor in Mission, Tx 12/18. Small world!
