Engine Bay Trouble Light

Post by Safaritoonces »

This is a simple way to add a permanent trouble shooting light to the Engine bay under the bed. I found that when I most needed a light during times of problems, the standard LED lights and flash lights did not work well. These lights were constantly falling over, or falling under the coach or shining in my eyes. I needed something fixed but movable in a time of possible emergency or just basic work so I added the LED lighting system in this presentation. There are two LED lights, one mounted to the bed that turns on when the bed is lifted, the other is also LED but has a 120v plug-in and can be moved to any location desired.

That is a good idea. I just changed the fuel line from the Racor to the Cat engine. One of the worst jobs I have ever done. 4 hours to get one fitting off... the worst part was the light, impossible to see because it was under the intercooler, the bottom of three vertical fittings, behind and below the air compressor and not enough clearane for a normal wrench, that hat light would have been a major help. The light I did works well for the front of the engine bay, but now I am going to install two more in the rear and also buy one of those lights you suggested. Once you need these things it is too late if you don't have them.
