Installed solar panels

Post by ProCycle »

I've just completed installing a solar system.
Four 210 watt Newpowa panels, Tristar charge controller and Victron battery monitor.
The attachment solar_panels_3.jpg is no longer available

Hi Jeff,
Are you fastening them down to the roof joist or just into the 1/4" plywood. What are you using for screws/ bolts

Hey Bob,

Directly into the plywood just like all the original equipment that was screwed on by the factory. I'm using #12 self drilling screws and plenty of Dicor under, over and around the brackets.

On my coach the plywood roof substrate, (under the Filon fiberglass roof), is closer to 1/2" thick.

I eventually plan on adding 4-5 solar panels and just wondering.
I thought it was 1/4 " but I will double check.
