Tow dolly brakes install

Post by rustyrobins »

Hi Safarians!
We have a Kar Kaddy by Demco tow dolly without brakes. I want to install electric brakes. Our Ivory has a Tekonsha Voyager module already installed under the dash and a 6 din trailer plug. All trailer lights work fine but I haven't tested all dins yet for trailer brake voltage. Any information regarding installing kits, hubs, plates, and drums on tow dolly could be very helpful. Tow dolly has 14" rims with 5 lugs directly into the hub. (no drums or plates) With the right kit it looks like this might be easy to install or yet least something I can do. If you have done this please let me know stuff like kits, tools, tips, and things to consider. I will be doing my own research as well. Once again I want to thank you all for your input. I benefit from your advise the others as well.

Don’t know what your situation might be but sounds safer and more reliable just to find one with brakes already installed from manufacture.
Bought one brand new last year on the way to Pennsylvania one trip 3000 miles on it ,will sell for half price has hydraulic brakes.
