Drive selector

Post by Rama89 »

Good afternoon all,

I took the white tiger out for a few test riders and all is well for a rig that is 28 years old.

Today I jump in to move it for winter and it won't go into drive.. I press the'D' and nothing, R and N work as they should.

Any thoughts

Power or ground to/from Allison VIM lost/disconnected? ($1,500 lesson learned in 2002).

After rechecking chassis battery to Allison ECU (positive and ground) AND to/from the dash ignition solenoid (there are two hots to the Allison, the one that turns on the shift pad is off the ignition solenoid and a fuse) use the Allison shift pad to check for DIAGNOSTIC CODES.

Another excellent diagnostic is here: https://www.transmissioninstruments.com ... eshooting/

And, if you do need the Allison shift pad or ECU repaired, they are the ones to do it.

Since there is power to the box, lights on, R works and all other buttons I am making the assumption for a bad pad.

Sending off to get rebuilt to transmission instruments.

Unless there is a good way to diagnose?
