CAT 3126B oil pressure sensor manifold

There are two oil pressure sensors on my 2000 Continental CAT 3126B. These are on the passenger side to the rear of the starter. I am considering to add a line to the manifold that these two sensors are on. But I can barely see one of the sensors. Has anyone changed these, how much work was it and did the starter have to be removed first?

I am adding an oil centrifuge and need an oil source and return port. What I am looking for is an oil feed line from the block (as per above or here) that will not impact any engine components. Can I T off the Bendix Truflow air compressor oil line and use oil from there without impacting the air compressor. There is a vertical plug on the drives side one inch from the bell housing that I am guessing would work for oil return to the pan. Does anyone have knowledge about this plug. I am working with Finning and this is not resolved as yet.

The two drivers side block files show the plug. The air compressor picture shows the oil feed line at the bottom of the compressor.

Robert,

Didn't you see my recent post regarding an oil leak???

Give Dave Atherton a call, he is the most knowledgeable CAT Master Trouble Shooter out there. If you have doubts, give Bill a call, he has dealt with him in person.

I left the info in this thread, but it is easiest to just type Atherton into the forum search bar, this will bring up Dave Atherton's info...

91 Fox, running 5w30 weight oil in 95 degree heat. At Idle, oil pressure drops. Can I use 40 weight?? When it is cold, pressure is ok, driving a while in the heat, 30 minutes or so, then intermittently pressure drops, any ideas?

My 3126 Cat uses only SAE 15W40 oil.

What is a 91Fox? Which engine do you have?

Same as Mel, 15W-40... just changed oil in my CAT 3126B and bought the oil at CAT when buying other parts. Their recommendation, was 15w-40.

Looked around for an answer. Seems like 15 with a shallow pan and 22 for deeper pan. While Googling, found this resource:

If "seems like" is not comforting, a call to the Caterpillar RV Hotline (877 777-3126) with your engine serial number will get you the correct oil capacity for your particular Cat engine.
(My 3126 is 28 quarts when changing the oil filter).
