96 Sahara 3126 fan blade needed

Post by Bigal »

The fan blade is chipped and old and I don't want to take a chance of it blowing up and taking out the radiator. It has seven blades, 6 bolt holes and a 28 in diameter. So far I haven't found the right vendor. Any help with a part number and vendor would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!!

I think the 296256 is part no. The 296 refers to a 7 blade fan from 14”-26”

Dwayne,

Is that stress cracks on the fan blade mounting holes, or just cracked paint?

From what I can see there are no stress cracks. I am planning on replacing it. As well as water pump, thermostat( regulator in cat talk)
Radiator and all the rubber hoses I can find. Upgrade to silicone hoses. Replacing the heater hose to front along with valve as well.
I was caught off guard by the amount of debris in between Charge air cooler. and radiator. The fan shroud needed to be pushed back to see in between. My fan shroud was siliconed to radiator with what seemed to be many pounds of silicone. Upon re assembly I will secure fan shroud with many nut inserts as my current shroud only has 4 welded studs holding this rather large shroud on. Now I am thinking about valve adjustment too. Will this ever stop? I would love to have a fan clutch but that would have to be air operated one as thermostat clutch won’t work in pusher.

I have contacted ACS and sent photos of my fan with part numbers. my existing fan is a 28” fan. They no longer make a 28” fan as it tended to come apart. They have replace this fan with the 296256-27. $134 delivered
This is for our 1996 Sahara 3126 cat 300 hp
I am also replacing the radiator with a copper one from active radiator. Model 310008. This will replace the aluminum with plastic tank i currently have. $1000
The radiator mounts that support the radiator and frame and cac cooler were sourced from modus advanced.
Part made by Lord pn CBA20-300-1 2 ea $50 ea
This job also includes water pump reman from cat with thermostat $300 and new belts $100 i bought bearings off amazon to replace bearing in belt idler pulley $11.
Plus replacing all the hoses with silicone hoses and clamps $200.
The heater hose to the front I want to do but it is laid on frame rail between water tank. I may install 2 shut off valves and pray. The hose looks good.
