1999 Safari zanzibar Allison trans...
There's a plastic reservoir jug in back of coach on passenger side behind antifreeze reservoir that says Dextron II on the jug. Can someone tell me what that is for? Is the trans fluid reservoir? We didn't get all of the original manuals when we purchased it and I can't find anything specific on my hours of online search. Appreciate any help out there!

No, there is no "reservoir" for the transmission.

Likely Power steering fluid= Dexron

Trace hose from the reservoir. Likely goes to engine-driven pump.

As Brett stated, that is the reservoir for your power steering and brake booster. There are some files here about changing the transmission fluid and that you have to use the newer fluid now (Allison has a superb website that tells you which fluids can be used now)

Uh…do you have a pic? I have a 2000 Zanzibar. Yes likely your brake booster res as stated…uses atf. Nothing to do with your tranny. Same is likely true for your levelers…atf, not typical hydraulic fluid.

Thanks for the info all, we took it to a shop and they walked us through what we couldn't figure out from the manuals we do have. When you know better, you do better! Appreciate all the support :D
