Hello All
Thank you first to Brett for answering my question about my inverter, Now I am changing the air filter got it off the engine and am now having a fit trying to get the right part on the side of the filter it says WIX 546357 however my concern is do you replace the whole filter or just the filter inside or does the filter case come apart
Please let me know of any part number I can use to finish this job

Thank You All

Don,
The filter is an all in one unit - the metal housing doesn't come apart so that you can just replace the insert. There are actually quite a few companies that make the filters for our rigs, so do some research and check around for the best prices. Also, the Wix number I have is 46857, not 357 (the last 3).

If that is the correct WIX number, looks like the lid and filter are a unit. Don't see a canister:

Click on the superseded PN 46357

Is that what yours looks like?

ON EDIT: If 546857 is the correct number, indeed it is a complete housing:

Don,

Duane is correct, the Wix filter number is: 546857 Napa is the same number without the first digit (5). And the filter and housing is all one unit.

I believe the Fleetguard filter number is AH19014 and last I looked it was a bit cheaper than the NAPA filter.

Yup, on Wix's excellent cross reference site that crosses to the same PN 46857

Yes, Hal, I also use Fleetguard filters (air, fuel, and oil). The Modern Shop http://shop.moderngroup.com/ usually has very good prices on Fleetguard filters. They are a good outfit to deal with and their filters are fresh, not expired like you often can get from places like Filterbarn.com.

NAPA has an annual filter sale, timing dependent apparently on the store where Wix Gold filters are on SALE 50% off. Most of the small filters are a great deal, the large filter being discussed is not always the best deal, I can not explain why this is so, just an observation made over a number of years.

I also have a question about my air filter.
We have a 2003 Safari Sahara 3622 with the 350 Cummings.
I don't know how other air filters are in stalled but on ours you have to open up the trap door on the floor between the bed and the sliding closet to get to the top of the filter but it comes out from under the moho,
My problem is how do you line up the top of the filter with the rubber boot, you can not see it from under the moho so some one has to be looking down from the top.
I remove the clamp on top at the filter.Does anyone undo the clamp at the end above the big clamp.
