Hello All
We need to change out our serptine belt and water pump belt. We did find a number on the serptine belt but are unable to find one on our water pump belt .Our engine is a 3126 cat Serial number 1WM01448
Our motorhome is a 96 Safari Continental 40 Model 4SL any help is greatly appreciated!!

Ironically, the water pump belt is the one that Cat actually DOES have the numbers for when people ask since the engine comes from the factory with the belt installed. The number that I have (I've got a 96 Sahara with a 3126 Cat 1WM series as well) is Cat # 036-6775.

A call to the Caterpillar RV Hotline 877 777-3126 with your engine serial number will get you the correct water pump belt number for your particular Cat engine.

Thank you all I was able to actually get a water pump belt! Went to Kenworth and they crossed matched for me our belts will be here in about 4, days! I wanta say this is a great group you helped a lot! And its very much appreciated!

what were the belt numbers and brands that you got for your 1wm?

As posted, the water pump belt (a short V belt) on a Caterpillar 3126 is supplied (and stocked) by Caterpillar. So, with your engine serial number, any Caterpillar dealer should have it or could get it quickly.

The serpentine belt is supplied by the chassis maker, as location of accessories like alternator and dash A/C compressor are their choice, not Caterpillar's.
