Hydraulic parking brake indicating light switch

Post by jay »

Hi,
I have a 2002 safari Zanzibar with a hydraulic parking brake. ( Not Autopark) There is a dual terminal normally closed switch for the parking brake indicator light. this switch was originally manufactured by Hobbs Corp. Does anyone know a good p/n for a replacement switch?
Thank You,
Jay

Jay,
If you could post a picture of the switch in concern it would help a great deal. One of the common switches that causes problems on Safari's is the emergency brake switch, but I'm not sure if it's the same as what you are looking for or not. Either way, Napa has a push button switch # TWD 9004307BX - if you type in those numbers it should take you to Napa online and a picture. If this isn't it, a picture would help us to help you

Correction Duane,
I hadn't previously mentioned that it is a hydraulic pressure switch. I compare it to a sending unit on an old car. Not knowing the pressures this switch is operating at, I'm having problems doing a cross reference.
Thanks again,

That looks like just a regular hydraulic brake pressure switch - you should be able to go into Napa with it and find a replacement.

Ok. Thanks for all the input. My concern with it is not knowing the operating pressures. Maybe just overthinking it. Thanks again taking the time.

A brake pressure switch would be designed to handle pretty high pressures but would still switch on at relatively low pressure. Should work just fine.
