Are you referring to the vacuum pump that operates the dash HVAC system?

OR

The pressure pump that operates the PacBrake?

I may should have started another thread but seemed OP had gotten on to his vacuum pump for the Cruise Control and yea, apparently some front dash control (just found that line e other day.)
I am referring to the vacuum pump. I have bought a Recommeded Ford version, have it with me. Plan to swap out before departing current local. My problem is literally the Angel of attack! Mine is as OP noted right adjacent to the air compressor that feeds the Pac-Brake and Air horn (replaced last year or so.) So on driver side, on that nearly impossible to reach flat surface.

I replaced my vacuum with a Ford version that I put under the hood close to vacuum reservoir. Going to use separate vacuum pump for cruise control. That way won’t loose both systems if pump fails.

I like the Hella vacuum pump as suggested by TDJohn. Especially since it seems to have built in switch. Would vacuum reservoir still be needed? It would be used only for cruise control. Thanks

A reservoir would be a good idea as it will allow the cruise control to respond more quickly and function properly, especially is the pump is a small low volume pump.

I have the Hella pump and a small ball shaped reservoir. It works just fine.
