Steering Wheel Groan

Post by QuantumRift »

I searched but could not find a similar problem.

Looking for possilble causes of the following things:

When turning the steering wheel, I hear a kind of moany groan from the steering column. Either direction. Not sure when it was last greased.

When applying the brakes, sometimes, but not all the time, the pedal seem to have some excessive travel. Sometimes it nearly goes to the floor, but a couple pumps and it's back up. Possible that the brake system needs bled - it's not been driven much in the past couple of years.

Thanks in advance,

Yes, brake fluid need to be changed every couple of years.

Also, check the level of your PS fluid and replace filter if not done recently.
