The power take up cord reel was a source of a great deal of problems. It damaged the hurricane heater control board by intermittent voltage, low power drop outs and constantly arcing thereby fluctuating the voltage to the system due to the internal melted contacts. This is a three part presentation on how the system was modified to work correctly and the failure mode of the power reel.
