Intermittent brake lights

Post by jdoriguzzi »

2008 SAFARI SIMBA
Our brake lights are causing problems...they only work intermittently. Also, the cruise control does not disengage when the brake is pushed. I’ve hear it may be a problem with the brake light sensor near the brake pedal, but we can’t find it. Does anyone know the location on our motorhome?

jdoriguzzi,

Your Simba was built by Monaco, so you might be better off checking some of the Monaco forums. That said, it sounds like you have a defective brake light switch. I don't know about the Monaco built units, but on the older Safari built Safaris, the brake light switch is located on the exterior brake pedal lever/arm, so you might want to look there. Replacing it should not be hard. Take the part off and take it to your auto parts supplier, that should be able to match on up.
