Brake Switch Repair and Workaround

Post by Safaritoonces »

This is a project to provide the functionality of the brake switch when the brake switch had failed and a replacement was not available. The last part of the project is how to repair the brake switch. This should be applicable to almost any motorhome brake switch.

A NEW replacement brake light switch can be found in stock at most auto part stores, (for < $20).

Thanks Mel... I am going to get one as a spare. With no tow vehicle... and no part number I found myself at the mercy of the shop. They were honest but an inspection shop and limited knowledge. The switch internals were good but the wires I think were left to move and the miles of road vibration broke the strands.

Thanks, Mel for posting the link for the NAPA Stores. I just ordered one. My current switch is a little "Spastic" Sometimes it works . . . and sometimes it doesn't!
