This is a long shot, but since you plan to open the inverter up to look things over. Look for any low amp fuses inside the unit. I can't recall, but for some reason, in the back of my head, there is a faint memory that is telling me that there might be some low amp fuse(s) among the circuit boards. Can't hurt to look, might get lucky. Wish I could be of more help, but that's about all I can muster with my CRS.
